Queenshead Hotel Kelso

Amazing place with great wi-fi, comfortable rooms, and a relaxing bar area. The staff even helped with my late check-in on my first stay. I can't wait to return for Christmas!

Nothing too much trouble, it was dope! The staff was courteous, the breakfast was satisfactory, everything was excellent. The location was marvellous - 300 metres away from The Tony Huggins-Haig Gallery. Plus it was in a lovely area. The room was attractive and luxurious and the beds were exceptionally comfortable.

Our accommodation was set in a central location short walk to both the shops and the walk along the riverside, and the Old Parish Church, venue for the Kelso Music Society. The breakfast was free, pastries and fruit.

Couples who value comfort will appreciate this

The staff were great and friendly, and the dinner was really good, especially the roast beef with Yorkshire puds. They even took the time to check if we were happy with the meal.

It wasn't inexpensive, but for the experience, it was acceptable.

Had a lovely one-night stay where I enjoyed a hearty breakfast and a cozy, clean room. The beautiful garden was perfect for a quiet morning, and the lounge area provided a great spot to unwind in the evening. 🌼

The warm welcome was awesome and my room was super comfy and nicely decorated. Had dinner downstairs and the food was great, especially loved the gin menu! Plenty of shops and cafes close by too.

only downside was the blinds in my room didn't work, and there was a bit of noise from outside during the night.

convenient access to parks and local eateries

I loved how close this place is to the Kelso War Memorial, just a few steps away, and with charming cafes and shops in the surrounding streets, it was perfect for my weekend strolls. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice offered, and the room was comfortable, clean, and fit for purpose.

The queenshead has a fantastic central location. The staff were so friendly and efficient, really standing out . We loved the great breakfast options with excellent service.

Perfect spot in Kelso!

We spent 7 nights and loved it! Super central, we could walk everywhere. The breakfast was yummy with plenty of options. Staff were really friendly. Our room was nice and clean, just a bit smaller than expected. The bar area was cozy but kinda noisy at times.

A lovely lunch experience with attentive staff

We enjoyed a good lunch despite a busy weekend. The atmosphere was charming, and our server was helpful, quickly fulfilling our drink orders. My lamb liver special lacked flavor, but my partner enjoyed the steak pie. I recommend arriving early to avoid wait times.

Perfect for a relaxing weekend

The breakfast was superb, I mean they had smoked haddock that was just amazing you gotta try it. The staff were friendly and really helpful making us feel welcomed right from the start, huge thumbs up for that.

The hotel boasts a charming old building with character, perfectly situated just off the central square. The dining area has a lovely atmosphere, giving off a unique vibe that intrigued me from the outside.

I found the noise from the street to be a nuisance, especially with the cobbled roads and the lively conversations that drifted in from the outdoor seating. My room had a window overlooking a less-than-pleasant courtyard that felt cramped with bins, which detracted from the experience. The bathroom felt quite small. If you have an eye for detail, some aspects of the room, like the stained bed base and the lopsided bedside light, could use a bit of TLC. Lastly, the bar area didn't quite match the hotel's charm, with mismatched TVs playing different sports channels creating an uninviting atmosphere.
